Board URL & Button:
Name of Board: (1st board: Healing Waters) This one: Innocence Exposed
Activity: Active and long-running (4 years)
Plot/Story:
The setting of this RPG is the school of Mount Horizon (located near Vancouver, Canada), which is an outdoorsy, boarding-style school for troubled teens. After years of being online, the board has expanded well beyond that of a typical school atmosphere, with a growing town section to broaden our player-base to include a variety of adult characters.
This RPG centers on the emotional drama, love-lives and everyday real-life problems that the students of Mt. Horizon and the residents of Agnes face. The students enrolled at Horizon, in particular, deal with issues such as:
- Drug Abuse
- Sexual Abuse
- Verbal Abuse
- Self-Injury
- Eating Disorders
- Neglect
- Abandonment
- Depression
- Etc.
Board Stats:
The board's been up and running for almost four years now (the first site, Healing Waters, ran for two years, and this continuation site has been running for almost the same amount of time). We curently have over 100 different characters on the board, and it's always active, with 10-12 people usually on throughout the night on many occasions. This RPG is like an online home to many of its devoted, long-time members, and we don't plan on leaving anytime soon. And unlike most high school RPGs, this one can be at a comfortable yet active pace; it's definitely not rush-rush nor dead at any time.
About Mount Horizon & Agnes:
Mount Horizon is located far away from the rest of civilization - the nearest town being that of Agnes, where the counselors of Horizon and a diverse assortment of locals reside (residents ranging from criminals to humble townies). The town of Agnes, much like Horizon, is surrounded by a seemingly endless vast of forest and mountains; it's a very small town, though the buzz of city life also has its own place on the board.
At Horizon, teens are placed in one of many "student groups." Each group has two-three counselors who run it, who are always made available for their students to turn to. Also, group outtings or group meetings may be held, but not routinely. Each student group has their own cabins, for boys and girls respectively, though outside of the cabins, all the students intermingle despite their placing.
Other Notes:
It is only required to have read the rules and guidelines to place an application on the board. You will only be able to post once your account is validated (unless you are advertising; we are guest-friendly).
Annually, during the summer months, we hold an awards event for the site.
