These are the templates for character applications. Please be sure to read any notes I have included in the 'example' template. In creating your character, aim for as much realism as possible.
Name: First and last name required. Also include any nicknames in quotes (ie Elizabeth "Elle" Emerson).
Age: Fairly straightforward. Characters under sixteen need to have a 'guardian' of sorts.
Gender: No explanation needed.
Heritage: Your character may be African American, Caucasian, Native American, Chinese, or any mix of these. Native Americans joining at this point should be 'westernized'. Also keep in mind races other than pure Caucasian will likely face prejudice, etc.
Job Position: Let me know what job position you're interested in (not required for women). If you're applying for a canon character, type in the job he or she already has.
Physical Description: Try to give as detailed a description as you can. Eye color, hair color, height, body type, clothing style, other defining characteristics.
Personality: Again, aim for a fairly detailed description. What are this person's aspirations, fears, likes, dislikes? Also give an idea of their particular temperament and attitude toward others.
Past: This doesn't have to be as detailed as your character's appearance and personality... but if you have inspiration go ahead and write as much as you like. Give an idea of what your character has been through in life.
Name: Keep in mind horses during this time did not have 'show names'. Their names were more or less short and sweet. Do not exceed two words.
Age: Horses under three years of age will not have any undersaddle training. Horses under six cannot be completely reliable or capable of being a full-time work horse.
Gender: The horse should be a mare, stallion, or gelding. Horses used for work on the ranches are typically geldings or mares.
Breed: The only breeds currently permitted are Quarter Horse, Thoroughbred, Morgan, most draft breeds, and mules. Cowboys didn't have any Friesians around, and Arabians were very rare.
Training: This does not apply for mustangs, but for domestic horses members should give a general idea of the training that the horse has.
Physical Description: Try to give a fairly detailed account here. What is the horse's height, color, markings, build, and other defining chracteristics?
Temperament: Again, try to give a detailed description of the horses temperament around other horses and/or humans, tell us what fears the horse has (are they gunshy? etc). How dependable or cooperative is the horse? Is the horse patient when tied or fidgety and hot-headed?
Past: I recognize that horses don't always have the most eventful pasts. You can put as much or as little as you like here.
